At a glance

Key facts

  • No honey, honey powder or royal jelly is on the label. The word honey is only in the brand name.
  • Per capsule: niacin 7.5 mg NE (47% DV), calcium 18 mg, L-arginine 200 mg, L-arginine AKG 2:1 extract 200 mg, L-citrulline HCl 100 mg, L-citrulline malate 100 mg, beta-alanine 40 mg.
  • Other ingredients: hypromellose (vegetable capsule), vegetable stearate and silicon dioxide.
  • The form is a capsule. Our sources list no drops, gummies or powder.
  • The cited sources research these amino acids mostly for exercise and circulation, not memory.
  • No trial of the MemoHoney formula itself has been published.

The name

Why does the name say honey if the capsule has none?

Because it is a brand name, not a recipe.

The bottle shows a honey-gold band and a honeycomb. The sales artwork adds a honey dipper. These are design choices. They tell you nothing about what is inside the capsule.

The inside is a small set of amino acids, one vitamin and one mineral. Honey would show up under Other ingredients, and it does not. That list has three items: hypromellose, vegetable stearate and silicon dioxide. The first is the plant-based shell.

If you ever see a bottle that lists honey, honey powder or royal jelly, treat it as a different product. Put it aside and call the order desk on +1 (302) 200-3480.

Supplement Facts

What are the seven lines on the MemoHoney panel?

Serving size is one capsule. There are 30 servings in a bottle. Here is what the panel prints for each capsule.

MemoHoney Supplement Facts per capsule, with the research subject our sources name for each line (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements)
Label lineAmountWhat our sources link it to
Niacin7.5 mg NE (47% DV)A B vitamin. Memory is affected only in a true shortage (NIH ODS, Niacin)
Calcium (as calcium carbonate)18 mg (1.5% DV)A trace amount
L-arginine (base)200 mgHeart and circulation topics; no memory use listed (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine)
L-arginine AKG 2:1 extract200 mgArginine paired with alpha-ketoglutarate
L-citrulline HCl100 mgExercise studies; support called weak (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements)
L-citrulline malate100 mgExercise studies, at gram doses (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements)
Beta-alanine40 mgSport studies at 1.6 to 6.4 g a day (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements)

Every amount is printed. There is no proprietary blend that hides a total. That is a plus for anyone who wants to check a dose. The niacin form is not named on the panel.

Form

Is MemoHoney a capsule, a pill, a gummy or drops?

It is a capsule. The bottle holds 30 vegetable capsules, and the suggested use is one a day. People also type "pills" when they search, and that works as a word for the same capsule.

Our sources list no gummies, no drops and no powder. If a page offers MemoHoney gummies or drops, ask who makes them. The label we have read does not describe such a product.

The suggested use on the bottle reads: one capsule daily with 8 oz of water, 20 to 30 minutes before a meal. The sales page adds that the morning is preferred. The label does not name an hour. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

The nootropic label

Is MemoHoney a nootropic?

The word nootropic has no official meaning on a supplement label. Our sources do not define it. Shoppers use it for products sold to support memory, focus or clarity. MemoHoney is sold that way, so the word describes the marketing.

What matters more is the evidence. The bottle says "Advanced Memory Support*" with icons for focus, clarity and energy. The asterisk leads to the standard FDA statement. In plain words, the agency has not evaluated the claim, and the product is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

So the label "nootropic" is not proof of anything. A supplement can use it with or without evidence. Federal researchers find no direct evidence that any supplement prevents dementia (NCCIH, Supplements for cognition).

Evidence

What does research say about these ingredients and memory?

Little that supports the memory pitch. Mayo Clinic's page on L-arginine covers topics such as angina, blood pressure and circulation. It lists no memory use (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine). The NIH fact sheet on exercise supplements covers arginine, citrulline and beta-alanine as workout aids (NIH ODS, Exercise supplements).

Niacin is the one line with a memory link, and it is narrow. A severe shortage, called pellagra, can cause memory loss (NIH ODS, Niacin). Topping up helps only someone who is truly short on it.

Dose is the other gap. The exercise studies used grams. A capsule holds milligrams. For arginine, the studies used 2 to 20 g a day, and the two arginine lines add up to 400 mg. That is about a fifth of the smallest studied amount. For citrulline it is about a fifteenth, and for beta-alanine about a fortieth.

None of this proves the capsule does nothing. It means nobody has shown that it does something for memory.

A quick method

How can you review any ingredient list in two minutes?

  1. Count the lines

Do you see seven lines and an amount for each? A blend with one total is a warning sign.

  2. Look for honey

There should be none. Honey on the panel means a different product.

  3. Match the amount to a study

Find the studied dose in a trusted source, then compare it with the milligrams on the bottle.

  4. Read the caution

The label asks anyone under 18, pregnant or nursing, or with a known medical condition to see a physician first.

  5. Check your own pills

Niacin and arginine appear in many multivitamins and pre-workout mixes. Add them up. The supplement limit for niacin is 35 mg a day (NIH ODS, Niacin).

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does Memo Honey contain honey?

No. The panel lists niacin, calcium, two L-arginine lines, two L-citrulline lines and beta-alanine. The other ingredients are hypromellose, vegetable stearate and silicon dioxide. Honey is not on the list.

What is the MemoHoney formula?

Per capsule: niacin 7.5 mg NE, calcium 18 mg, L-arginine 200 mg, L-arginine AKG 2:1 extract 200 mg, L-citrulline HCl 100 mg, L-citrulline malate 100 mg and beta-alanine 40 mg. Every amount is printed.

Does MemoHoney come as gummies or drops?

Not in our sources. The product we cover is a capsule, 30 per bottle. If a page sells gummies or drops under this name, ask who makes them before you pay.

Is MemoHoney vegetarian?

The label lists a hypromellose capsule, which is a plant material. No vegetarian certifier is named, so a badge alone does not prove more than the label does.

Is MemoHoney a nootropic?

It is sold for memory, focus and clarity, which is how shoppers use that word. The word has no official label meaning, and no trial of the formula has been published.

Do the ingredients in MemoHoney help memory?

Our sources do not show that. The arginine, citrulline and beta-alanine research is mostly about exercise, at far higher doses. Niacin matters for memory only in a true shortage.

Bottom line

Our view

The honest answer to the title is short: no honey. The longer answer is that the capsule is a small amino acid and vitamin mix with a very honey-looking brand. Its label is clear, which is to its credit. Its memory case is thin, which is to its cost.

Read the panel before you buy. Compare the amounts with the studies. If your doctor or pharmacist sees the list, so much the better, especially if you take heart, blood pressure, nitrate, blood thinner or diabetes medicine. L-arginine can clash with those.

Please note

MemoHoney is a dietary supplement. It is not FDA approved, and no supplement is. It is not a drug and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. The statements on the bottle have not been evaluated by the FDA. If you have a medical condition, take medicine, or worry about your memory, talk to a doctor first.
